The American Institute of Positivity's War Against Teen Violence (W.A.T.V.) initiative's mission is to work within communities to  reduce the stigma of negative thinking, prevent teen violence and risky behaviors, and provide youth with a set of non-violent techniques in order to handle conflict. 

 

American Institute of Positivity is working with parents, schools, community organizations and community leaders to prevent Youth Violence. WE ARE IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY. Our young people are exposed to the negative impact from the glorification of violence on television, media, and in video games, as well as exhibited by individuals and groups who engage in criminal behavior, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, and gang-related criminal activities. These images portray an overwhelmingly impression on the lives of our youth resulting in an increase in risky behaviors and including violence against themselves and others, substance abuse, suicide, and other behavioral health issues.
